Day's End

10:50 PM, Thursday, 4 February 2010
Temperature: 45 F, raining

Evening chores mostly went smoothly. During the late afternoon though the barn kittens found that they can if they bump into the rollup doors of the workshop open them; startled them in the act and they scattered back inside. Bolted the one door and wedged the other one with a broom as we'd like to wait until the last freeze of the season for them to be outdoor creatures. If they get it open anyway, though, them's the breaks. We'll have to work out a better entry/egress for them, though, as we'd like not to leave it open to all sorts of other critters.

No ducks or sheep or geese have escaped. The rabbits are a bit unhappy and their cages should be cleaned soon; hopefully this weekend will see the grazing arks completed. Only Minnow has shown interest in peanut butter and they just do not reliably use their bottles. We're looking into training methods because right now their water dishes need to be rinsed, topped off, righted, refilled multiple times a day, which isn't always feasible.

Probably no report tomorrow as we'll be down to one out of two farmers for half of tomorrow and half of Saturday.
